13 Trained, 7 Hired: Building a Tour-Guiding Team from Scratch

Lakeside needed guides with real customer skills. We recruited from the community, trained thirteen, and seven were hired at 150,000 RWF a month.

Lakeside Tours briefed the role in detail — the routes, the customer profile, the languages. Our screening ranked applicants from the community on relevance, motivation and experience, and thirteen candidates completed role-specific training plus a final project the employer set themselves. Seven started work the following month.
